For whatever reason, the Universe keeps throwing curve balls at me. Our eldest ran out of prepaid tuition credits and scholarship money. The next two college semesters will cost us $12,000 so she can graduate. I called her last night, and we spoke at length, in circles, about how this could have happened? Who do we blame? Who do we call? Is it criminal or negligent? What’s the action plan? As we hung up to go to bed, she felt terrible and so did I. She’d hoped I would minimize her mistake (taking too many classes without consulting an advisor) and just find the money. Yes, I can find it, but it advances my fear that Im blowing through money and living beyond my means. My working only covers a fraction of our expenses. Add to that the big swipes… multiple roof leaks, multiple appliance replacements, two kids in college with increasing costs, and skyrocketing inflation. I am overwhelmed.
This morning I took a bike ride. I absorbed fresh air, sunshine, natural beauty, and the sounds of birds. My heart lifted and mind cleared. In the last 5 minutes, I received two messages from Spirit. From you, I heard “Life lived, lessons learned.” And from your dad, I sensed him sliding a pile of gold coins across a table. I understood he would pay the education overage. I called our daughter to tell her the good news. She was relieved, and will still appease me by trying to get scholarships and appeal the lost funding.
